I am interested in pattens of growth, decay and turbulence. I find them compelling because they record a process, they register time, and they render complex form from simple, repeated operations. I play with patterns, piles and marks that record and register impressions of mine own: observations of tree rings, wind-carved canyons, cloud formations, water currents, maps and diagrams. I want to make connections between small, everyday events and larger accumulations of matter, space and time. I want to infuse the microscopic and the cosmic back into the ordinary and maintain a sense of playfulness that speaks to our creative and chaotic origins.
